Greenpeace Poems for the Planet Competition terms and conditions

  1. The Promoter is Greenpeace Limited, private limited company, company number 01314381, with our registered office at Canonbury Villas, Islington, London, N1 2PN (‘Greenpeace’, we, us our).
  2. Entry into the poetry competition will constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).
  3. The competition period will start at 9am on 15 September 2022 and end at midnight on 1 December 2022. After this date no further entries to the competition will be considered.
  4. To enter, you must submit a poem to us using the submission form, and follow the instructions. No other method of entry will be accepted.
  5. The Competition is open to children and adults in three age categories: 7-11 years old, 11-18 years old and 18+ years old.
  6. You may only make a maximum of one entry per person.
  7. Competition participants must be residents in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man to enter.
  8. Entries should be on the theme of the environment and hope and be no longer than 400 words.
  9. There will be one winner in each category.
  10. Entries must be submitted in mostly the English language, you may include phrases in another language.
  11. Three winning entries will be announced online subject to the consent of the entrant or their parent or guardian if under 18.
  12. By entering the Competition, entrants agree that their poems and data may be used by Greenpeace. Your personal data will be held in accordance with Greenpeace’s Privacy Policy in place.
  13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to give permission for you to enter. Permission can be given online when submitting an entry.
  14. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  15. The Winners, and a parent or guardian if under 18, will be notified via email by January 2023.
  16. If a Winner cannot be contacted within 7 days of notification, Greenpeace reserves the right to pick a replacement winner.
  17. The copyright of each poem remains with the author. However, by entering the competition, authors of the winning poems grant Greenpeace the right to publish and/or broadcast their poem.
  18. Authors of the winning poems will grant Greenpeace irrevocable, non-exclusive license to republish the work in perpetuity.
  19. You hereby represent and warrant that any use of your name or other related materials by or on behalf of Greenpeace, comply with all applicable laws, rules and regulations and does not infringe or otherwise violate the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.
  20. Greenpeace shall not be responsible for any inaccurate contact details provided by Qualifying Entrants/Winners, which results in a prize not being delivered.
  21.  Any prizes are non-transferable and non-negotiable.
  22. Greenpeace’s decision will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  23. Due to the large number of entrants we are unable to respond individually to submissions.
  24. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England
