BP’s new CEO is setting out his ‘net zero carbon ambition’ for the oil and gas giant. Bernard Looney wants the company to be seen as kinder and cleaner, committed to tackling climate change. But unless he pulls BP out of the fossil fuel business, anything else is just spin.

Research finds Antarctic penguin colonies declining by as much as 77% in last 50 years

London, Ushuaia - Argentina, 11 February 2020 – Scientists surveying chinstrap penguin colonies in the Antarctic have found that the impacts of climate change have led to drastic reductions of chinstraps in many colonies, with some declining by as much as 77% since they were last surveyed almost 50 years ago.
